How to use this tool
Choose Work, Explaining, or Everyday. Read a word’s meaning and example, then write a sentence about something you know. Use the checklist to judge your own example. Practice out loud carries the word and your sentence into a one-minute speaking exercise.
How are words selected?
This first collection contains twelve curated English words across three situations. Previous and Next let you browse each group. Today’s word uses your device’s calendar date to choose one of the four words in the selected category; it repeats as the collection cycles.
Will this check my sentence?
No. The meaning, example, and reflection question help you judge your own usage. Checking the box and finishing the word records your own reflection for this visit, not a measured vocabulary score.
Do I need a more impressive vocabulary?
The exercise is about choosing a word that fits your meaning. A familiar, specific word can be more useful than a complicated one. If the word does not fit your situation, try a different example or choose another word.
