How to use this tool

Paste an English transcript, keeping hesitation sounds and repetitions if they were transcribed. Choose Check transcript. Review each highlighted match in context, dismiss anything intentional, then try the answer again. Editing the transcript requires Update review; dismissed matches reset for the new text.

What does the checker match?

Hesitation sounds: um, uh, erm, er, and hmm. Context candidates: like, well, so, actually, basically, literally, you know, I mean, sort of, and kind of. It also flags adjacent repeated groups of one to three words, including across commas, but not sentence endings. Capitalization does not change matching.

Are all highlighted words fillers?

No. “I like this idea” and “The plan works well” are ordinary uses. Even hesitation sounds and repeated words can serve a purpose. Matching rules cannot understand your intended meaning, and this tool does not assign a quality score.

How are rates calculated?

Each remaining match counts once. Its category rate is matches divided by total transcript words, multiplied by 100. A phrase such as “you know” is one match but two words in the denominator. Repetition and dictionary matches can overlap; the categories are separate, not an overall filler percentage.

Can it listen to or transcribe audio?

No. Paste text you already have. This tool does not request your microphone, transcribe recordings, use AI, or send your transcript to a server.
